The truth about passive income

I know some of you may have read or seen all the noise lately about the internet business hype how you can be a millionaire or make 25,000 a month affiliate marketing,or how you can make 60,000 a year affiliate marketing,or how you became a YouTube millionaire. Maybe you read where you can be a millionaire selling just a few ebooks on amazon.

I'm here to tell you do not believe  all the hype cause most of it is just that hype and very untrue.The fact is you can make money doing anything in life you put your mind too! Anything you persevere at in life you ll be great at and someday  you just may become a millionaire yourself from all your efforts.

Let me tell you a little secret its not something that will happen overnight ! You also do not need to join someones webinar or pay for an online course   . I will show you how to make real money online for free.Yes I will show you ways to make money from home. You will also learn how to earn money online without an investment.  

Before I continue I want to mention ,there's nothing to join from me no email list to join to get free information,nothing to buy from me,just a quick overview ,below in this article .

I will outline what you can  start doing today to make money.I know you’ve seen those ebooks with outrageous claims.We all are guilty of reading them for the hell of it we know they are scams.  Most of them are get rich schemes or those blogs or you seen claims  where people try and say how they made 300,000 or 600,000 or 1 million selling ebooks only to get you to join there email list. so they can scam and spam you or how they became the next internet millionaire .Most of these are affiliate marketing scams,im not going to scam you but,offer you some Affiliate marketing tips.

How do they do it

The truth is yes you can become a internet millionaire only if you have like over a million followers on twitter and instagram and YouTube and you sell advertising and make money from clicks.Think of the Kardashians ,or Perez Hilton, or Lady Gaga, they all have millions of followers so when they do some content marketing,or some sponsored tweets they make millions. Go look at there twitter streams or there websites you'll see its full of ads and each tweet or post has a sponsored tweet in it.

Why are they able to make a killing you ask? When you have millions of followers or subscribers and you send out a affiliate marketing tweet ,a sponsored tweet or a paid for click tweet and you get say 300,000 people to click on it  in a few minutes because your so famous you just made your money. Maybe half of them buy your offer so you multiply 150,000 times by 20 cents that's  30,000 dollars  you just made. So you see what I mean if you have a huge following you could make a killing right away.

Or maybe you been in business for like 30 years  hustling and bustling and all the word of mouth and marketing ,and increasing your brand  and providing great service over the years has paid off and you finally became a millionaire before you retired and your like 58 years old after working hard for like 40 years.

Or maybe you discovered a famous internet search engine,and you bought YouTube,you are the owner of a social network and wear a sweatshirt, yes then you can be a millionaire.

Or you already have a successful brand like apple then every few years you launch a  new product a new iphone,new ipod,new mac-book etc then you turn millions into billions.

Truth about passive income

Before I tell you how easy it is to make legit money on the internet. I want to get rid of any myths or misconceptions you might have about lazy income or passive income the truth is there is no such thing as lazy income,or passive income. Let me explain.

Careers that are actually passive income

A real estate agent is considered passive income think about that for a moment. People find your name by the newspaper advertisement or a real estate sign or a card or word of mouth. Then you take these people out to see houses ,more houses and more houses people don’t just buy the first house the house has to be right fit,the right neighborhood. Some people do not want a pool,some people have to live on a quiet cul-de-sac some people want to live near a park and so forth.

So you do get your 6% of the sale of the house when the person does finally buy the house this can take some time and hard work as you see.A real estate agent and or landlord can also rent out properties to people homes apartments,town houses condos. Lets say you have a high rise with 500 units 400 units rent for 2500 and 100 units rent for 3500 a month.

That sounds like some great money before you thought about the leaky pipe,the cable going out,the elevator not working,the electricity not working,the infestation by pests ,bed bugs,roaches,having to call the exterminator,making sure you have everything up to fire code you have fire extinguishers installed and smoke alarms and that they are working,you have sprinklers. You are renting to section 8 families.

You evict  people who don’t pay,make sure you have cameras installed to deter any crime.Make sure strangers cant get in the building who don’t live there make sure no one is stealing the mail in the lobby .So as you can see that is a form of lazy income but is it really its a lot of work.

Another form of passive income is cable companies think for a minute of all the land cable companies occupy and how long it took them to put cable all over the USA think about it  if you move into a home cable is already there you just call them to turn it on but again they had to run cable wires in the ground or on telephone poles from there  cable to your house somehow.

Now think every time your cable goes out,there's a storm or an outage how annoying that is you have to send the cable guy out or something is not working think of how much of a hassle that may be lets say the cable is out and you have to send out 500 cable guys to one town to fix cable ,and pay these guys overtime.

Just think for a minute every time someone moves in they send a guy out with a new cable box. Or if you want to change or upgrade your channels you have to sit on hold for hours. You may own the cable company and make millions a month just think about it you have 1 million customers and each customer is paying 100 a month that's some good money but again a lot of work.

So as you see there's no such thing as lazy income if you want to succeed in anything in life it involves some amount of work and trial and error,even my little lesson below may take you 5 minutes to  read but,will not give you any results if you do not put in the effort into it.

So if your ready to make some decent money and put  in the hard work necessary then read on. If your looking to make 20,000 a month while you at your beach house then this is not for you. I personally wont make any claims about how much you could make because it all depends on you how much you put into it how far you take it.You could make an extra 1000 a month  or more or an extra 600 a year so you see what I mean it depends on you.

How us normal guys make a decent living

So I have told you how some people become millionaires when your famous or have a huge following now I will tell you how a normal guy or woman like yourself can make an honest living on the internet. Some stuff I will share with you is common knowledge but,its funny how a lot  of people overlook what I am about to share and had they stuck with it they would have been well off now.

I just want to repeat that .No you wont get rich over night this is not a get rich scheme its  a combination of things combined together in which you can have an honest modest income. It also is not passive income everything involves some work,but a small amount of work if you do not plan on working hard this wont be for you if yes then read on.

When I say modest income lets say you making 45,000 your wife 75,000 then with an extra income you can make online lets say you make an extra 5000 you can use that to go on vacation or pay down some debt.

     The plan

#1 You should have already monetized your blog  by now. If not there's many affiliate networks out there pay per click,cost per mile,pay for lead,for impressions it all depends what you are comfortable with.You could get paid to drive leads for someone to fill out a form,get paid for someone to buy something,or just get paid for clicks. Again it all depends on what you are into and comfortable with.Obviously if you have a website already you would get paid when someone comes to your online store or to your physical store and buys something.

Maybe you want to create an affiliate marketing web shop type  store that looks like  and feels like a real website but,is just a store on shopify  and is sending people to a big box store  but ,you get a percentage of the commissions.

Like for example maybe you have a sneaker store called cheapsneakers.com but ,it is not a real website you just set it up and you don’t take any sales or process credit cards or do any shipping you just market the web page and when someone makes an order you'll get commission only thing you'd have to pay is web hosting,and get a domain name. Web hosting is cheap these days . So that's  one idea again its all up to you.If you'd like to go the totally free route and don’t have a domain and use a free website and free blog that is possible too!

#2 Make sure you create a landing page for your blog or website and(promote this link) include this link in every video you post on YouTube.Actually you can create a free landing page with mail chimp.

 Place this link in every social network profile you have. Place this link in each of your niche forums signatures. You never know when someone will be looking for your product you are offering so that's why its imperative to include  your link everywhere so you will always generate organic traffic.

So where ever you are online make sure you have your link in the bio,profile etc.

News Magazine sites

 Another useful places to have your link is news magazine sites,apps  like flipboard,or medium,or discuss Google news and so forth there are so many of these news sites just do a search on Apple store and or Google play and again add your link to the bio and make sure  to respond and comment  daily to news stories and leave a detailed and intriguing comment.

There is always some breaking news something happening pretty much 24/7 .So again make sure to post thoughtful comments that are related to the stories maybe even get under peoples skin with your remarks to give people a reason to look at your bio.

Whenever I see some thoughtful and inspirational tweets on twitter I always look at there bio to see if they would be interesting to follow. Same concept if you leave a outrageous ,or outraging or inciting comments people will want to check you out. Instead of just saying .Wow or   I cant believe it. Or that's great. Make sure you have a well thought out comment where people will want to click on your bio then go to your landing page.

#3Social media

What I will say about social media is its best to focus on just one social media network to drive traffic. When you start to join every social media network you can think of your posts become less effective.So a good rule of thumb is to only use one.

So a few thoughts on twitter-as I wont get to bogged down with history and how to tweet ill just mention a few important things some of these may seem obvious but,you'd be amazed at how many people overlook these things and they fail.

Use hash-tags to increase your reach! Don’t always spam or offer a sales pitch! Promote other people on twitter! Be polite the last thing you'd want is be radical or unethical or offensive! Think of twitter like your day job!

You don’t want to offend people ,make people angry,as soon as you do they will unfollow you. Try to only follow people that are in your niche! Only follow  people if they follow you! Make sure you engage with people after all its about social media and interaction so every now and then maybe half hour in morning maybe again at noon or again  at night.

Look at your time-line and engage with your followers,the last thing people want or what people hate is people are following you then whatever they post you never engage them recognize them or anything . So every now and then make sure you engage some of your followers. Re-tweet some inspirational tweets,favorite some of them and reply to them and tweet regularly a good rule of thumb is to tweet say 3 to 5 times a day .

Anything over that and people will get annoyed with you. There are apps where you can tell when your followers are on twitter the most so you can tweet when they are online the most one famous app is called tweriod.com you can just log in with your twitter account,and it will tell you what time you should be tweeting.

If you cant be tweeting all day there are apps to send out automated tweets like hoot-suite. Where you would pre plan your tweets and spread them out throughout the day (lets say if you had no internet connection at your day job or where just too busy)

Follow twitter etiquette

When on twitter do not tweet sales pitch or do not make each tweet a info commercial like buy this now,buy my new cd,my new film is out watch it here every 5 minutes. No you will bore people to death and people will unfollow you so a good rule of thumb is to put a link to one of your best selling offers in a pinned tweet and don’t mention it in any of your other tweets as it will be at the top of your tweets people will already see it automatically.

So make it intriguing for people to click on it. One way to do this is don’t actually say whats in it for example use decisive words or incomplete sentences like. Its in the pudding. Or I know you want it. Or Get it while its hot.

So you see what I mean no one know what it or its means so people will click on your link to find out what it is and if your landing page is enticing they will click on that and make a sale.Make sure you mix your tweets to the best way you can Like so:

Tweet 45% about promoting other people no ads from you.

Tweet 10% about inspirational tweets no ads from you.

Tweet10%about content curating and no ads from you.

Tweet 5%about your business .include links and ads from you

Tweet 5%affiliate offers and sponsored tweets -people don’t link ads so keep to minimum.

Tweet 25% just spend that time engaging with your followers.

 Once you do this you don’t have to follow my formula exactly like a bible but once you do this then people will take you seriously and you will increase your brand  and get more sales as people don’t want each tweet to be a commercial. Im sure you seen those twitter accounts where each tweet is a tweet like buy beats here cheap.Then its the same tweet 50 times a day after the third tweet you'd unfollow the person.

Make sure you follow this and you will do better off in the long run.

#4 Blogging

The key to blogging is just find a niche you are really passionate about then blog about it as much as you can 2 times a week or more or once a month. The more you blog the more people will see your posts. So do not worry much about seo the more you blog the more people will find your blog in the search engines then they will click on your offer.

Buy your product ,sign up for  your email list and so on. When people come to your blog you should have it very clear and detailed about what you are offering to keep them on your page and engaged.

#5 Freelancing

Think about 5 things you can do great and fast since you were little to when you were older 5 things you are great at.Then sign up for the appropriate freelance website and sell these services. The key to freelancing is your profile,reviews and are you selling something unique and much lower than the average person is selling it.

Lets say in your neighborhood something cost $500 to buy in your town and it takes 4 days to get it to your house for example. Everyone online is selling it for $395 and they have it in 2 days you sell it for 1 day and deliver it in one day for $275. Again this is just an example of a model to go by. Sell something unique give great customer service and sell at good price and have good reviews.So try and sell like 5 or 10 different gigs on 1 or 2 freelance sites maybe you have 5 gigs on fiverr 4 gigs on seo clerks and you also offer services on upwork.

Promote them on your blog

Make sure you create a blog page for all of your freelance gigs you offer put them on a dedicated blog page. So when people come to your blog they know you also offer these services maybe put something in the sidebar or on some menu. Call it freelancing services then on that page talk in detail about each gig you offer.

#6 Affiliate marketing

There are many affiliate networks out there you can join it all depends on what you want to promote.Just do a simple search and sign up with as many affiliate marketing networks you see fit. If just starting out id say focus on 1 or 2.

The key to making money with affiliate marketing is solving a problem for people. Once you know how to give people or put the product in front of peoples face that are actually looking for that product then your golden!

A lot of people just look for something that is selling with a high percentage of sales thinking if it has been selling great then it will just sell for me too??? Wrong. That is the biggest mistake you could make. Lets say someone is looking for something to cure acne but,there's a weight loss pill that's selling like crazy so when someone reads your article about how to cure acne you send them to an article about weight loss because it is selling thinking everyone is going to buy it . Wrong.

Or lets say you have a porn site or a supermarket.com or a shopify store then you have a banner for bobsledding or a banner for a surfboard company or a banner for grass seed again because it was selling high on this affiliate site.

Make sure you do not fall for this . had you done your homework you would had realized that surfing,bob sledding and grass seed has nothing to do with porn,a supermarket  or a shopify site.

So how do you do it . Well the trick is to solve problems for people by knowing what they want ,what will help them solve there problems and putting those products in front of them. So they will buy them.\

Think of it this way your looking to buy a car by the end of the week you’ve been searching online to buy a car and you have your credit card in your hand at your laptop,ready to buy that car when the one you want pops up in the search.So the key to doing well in affiliate marketing is to figure out what people are searching for when they want to buy something!

How do you do this? keyword research there are a few free sites where you can do a search for keywords and a phrase and see what people are looking for ,what problems do they have and find the solutions they need and put those problems in front of them.

 Remember these people are already going to buy these products so your not really selling them anything just letting them know where they can buy it. Marketing,referring it to them whatever you call it all your doing is putting it in front of them when you learn how to do that then your sales will sky rocket.

Ebook publishing

People think writing an ebook is hard the truth is its not .If you can write 1000 words a night in a month you can write a 30,000 page novel or non fiction book. For a novel you might want it a bit longer. As you can see 1000 pages is like posting  a blog post. So if you can write a blog post then you can write a book. Just you have to do it every night for a month.

How whats my formula basically all you need to find what you are passionate about the same thing for blogging and freelancing write what you are passionate about and have experience.

Then write outline . Then for next month or year for ever it takes brainstorm all your ideas until you have enough content to fill  your outline. It may take a year or 2 maybe  or if you have time maybe 1  or 2 months depending on your time to complete your brainstorming. Once you have your brainstorming down. All that is left is to write your manuscript. Actually writing your manuscript and brainstorming are actually the easy part .The only hard thing is to find time to write and the marketing of your book.

So one tip to make sales to your book and your other freelance gigs is to make a free book sell it free permanently  ,and list all your other work in there from all of your freelance sites and everything. What you'd want to do is put a link in the beginning of the book that has all of your gig work listed.

Instead of having like 30 links in the book to all 30 of your freelance sites. Just include 1 link in the beginning of the book  also include a link to your landing page and one link in the end of the book ,just make sure this one link will navigate these people to  all of your gigs somehow.

So you have your free book . Market the free book like its the last day on earth remember the free book is like a info commercial every time someone sees your free book.

Now make other books that are not free and at the end of that free book your promoting also put links to your author page(some sellers may do this already)so this way when someone buys your free book,they have the option of signing up to your email list,going to your landing page or just if they are so happy they just skip your website and your email sign up and go straight to the end of the book to  see your other titles for sale.

From here just continue to write and sell more books again linking people to your author page at the end of the free books. So you will pretty much give your self a raise  as soon as you release a new book. You may have to go back into your book and edit it to include your new book though once its available for sale.

Writing a book is not as hard as it sounds.

Pretty much the method I use is  pretty simple.

Let me explain it in more detail.  Before you write anything you have to have a niche that you are passionate about and you have lots of experience in that field. The first thing youd want to do is brainstorm all of your ideas. The second thing youd want to do is write an outline.

After you have wrote your outline all you would have to do is start writing your book (the easy part) . Try to write 500 words a day that should be your goal.
