Is your blog niche a profitable one?
If you read my step by step guide on the first page of this blog from back in July,
Youll notice 2 important things i mentioned. Number one i have said all along when deciding
about what niche to blog in. I have always said to blog from within. Blog about what your most passionate about. Everyone has something they are great at and love to talk about . They love to teach people about it,even though they may not be a great teacher. You may enjoy talking about a subject a topic you are great in a field you are great in. Maybe you enjoy talking sports and you go to school and become the next Mike Fransesca as an example. We all have something we love to do. Ask yourself what is your passion.
If you do not have passion in your writing. Your readers will know when you are selling them something untruthful or your heart and passion and soul are not into. So do yourself a favor. And dont write about anything or blog about anything without passion.
Passion or Popular niche
Should i blog about passion or should i blog about a popular niche that is already making money? That is a question best answered by you.
Lets start with passion.
The thing is if its something you love talking about (remember your passion-things you enjoy the most) chances are only a few people may be into that field. So chances are it may take quite a while for you to bring in some organic targeted traffic ,to this specific niche you have.
So what im getting at is be prepared to not make any money on that type of blog until you have that huge amount of daily traffic coming in,and have built up your subscriber list .
Popular Niche
You have to ask yourself this one question .Are you willing to wait for the traffic to come? If your not looking to wait 8 months or a year to make your first 3 dollars then you may want to consider a popular niche that is already making a profit right now.
Im not going to sugar coat blogging or affiliate marketing like some gurus have online or in ebooks or in other blogs.
You can make money over time yes you can. No one who just starts out is not going to make $5000 a month or $15,000 a month maybe if you been doing it for 20 years and know a lot of tricks of the trade yeah. But just starting out dont expect to be rich over night as blogging is not a get rich scheme it evolves over time.
The popular niche route may be your thing if your looking to make money sooner. The only downside to this is the popular niche is going to have more competition for you to rank higher so in essence the better approach is to focus on a custom niche and then use long tail keywords with low competition so you can rank higher on google. For your more customized niche like dog breeding or flowers,or soccer moms,or whatever specialized niche you have.
